sw colorado mule deer hunting?

ok, so i may have a chance at hunting mule deer in SW colorado in late october or november. what would be the likely range of a shot? i dont know the terrian there so i dont know what rifle to take.

if it’s under 250 yards i’ll probably use one of my MN 91/30s.

In that area depending on where you are can be very rugged and open or lots of trees. I have seen deer miles away in the open and hard to get close to several herds. You could be faced with a long shot or hoping later for a close up shot in the tree line. Take your long range gun….it could be your only shot.

Where is a good place to hunt mule deer in oregon?
