Some Starter Deer Hunting Tips:

The average deer hunter with ordinary comprehension of the sport  gets average results.  Just about any hunter can usually get a little luck once a year and occasionally will get lucky. Bringing home a spectacular trophy buck though any frequency takes commitment and knowledge .  The true masters understand the following advanced deer hunting tips I am going to reveal to you .

Understand how Your Deer Hunting Rifle Shoots

Know the ballistics of the caliber and cartridge you use . Understand and be able to adapt for the distance that you are shooting; the rise on short shoots along with the fall on longer shoots. Practice judging distance and if all possible walk off the probable sighting areas ahead of time so if you’re making a 400 yard shot you realize it’s 400 yards and you also know the drop your bullet will realize at that distance and be able to adjust .

Scout Your Area In Advance

This is one of the hardest of deer hunting tips to follow, but one of the most important if you’re planning to bag a trophy. I don’t mean to just evaluate where you are going to sit when the truck drops you off either. What i’m saying is genuinely familiarize yourself with areas that you’re hunting. Some of my most successful hunting seasons were started months prior to opening day. I would get approval to visit the lease that I was going to hunt well ahead of time and scout the whole set of areas. I would research all of the available hunting sites and “dry hunt.” Act just as if I was hunting without   bringing my hunting rifle . I would then be able to find out what regions had the most deer activity , largest deer and optimum buck to doe ratios. I would also walk the lease through midday, observing any kind of signs of big bucks; and speaking of the signs of the big bucks, look at following deer hunting tips:deer hunting tips

Be Aware of All the Signs of Big Bucks

Knowing what to look for permits you to zero in on the places where the trophy deer are. Look for Scrapes – spots where bucks scratch the earth together with urinating to tag territory and attract does, usually under low hanging tree branches during the perimeter of heavy brush through the rut.

Look for Rubs

Spots on trees or posts where bucks wipe the velvet from their new antlers or mark their territory during rutting season. A “rub line” is usually a group of rubs, 6 or even more within about a 100 yard area . The rubs are normally along the side of the tree that the buck is traveling from, so observing which sides of the trees have got rub marks in a rub line presents clues as to the direction of movement. Also scout for and notice the size of bedding areas. No indication of bucks usually means no bucks!

While it’s true that almost every deer hunter wishes he or she could showcase that prize uck at some time during their hunting career, many are usually not satisfied until we bring home at least one monster each and every season.
